Maternity Session at the Imperial Beach Pier

This past saturday I had the pleasure of photographing a Momma who is due with her second child, a boy!  I had known Tiffanie for about a while now, as funny as it sounds we met on Instagram about two years ago, when I mainly used it to connect with other Moms and Military spouses. When I moved to San Diego she asked me to take her son, Connor’s second birthday photos and thus became my first client in California.  Since then she has become my most frequent client too 🙂

These photos envision a calm, relaxed, peaceful, warm beach day to me when I look at them, but when in reality it was a pretty busy day on Imperial Beach, a little windy and chilly too.

Jumping into the world of Boudoir

I’ve been lusting over Boudoir Photography for a while now, waiting for a chance to get to do a boudoir session with a client and I finally had the chance.  I loved that I would get to be apart of lifting women up and bringing out the sensual beauty in them.  Boudoir photography is wonderful, but a very sensitive matter, if you don’t do you job well, as the photographer, and do not help the women being photographed feel beautiful and comfortable, you will harm their self image.

The first session I did was for a friend, who’s husband is a deployed Marine.  I do not and will not post photos unless I get permission from the client,  although she is very shy, she gave me the “go” to post one of the photos from her session 🙂

The second shoot I did this past Tuesday was for a Navy spouse, who was celebrating her Anniversary this past friday and wanted them as a gift for her husband.  I was excited to find out that she didn’t mind images from her session shared, and who wouldn’t mind when you look this gorgeous 🙂IMG_1288group

The images above are from two different sessions, two different clients, although they may look similar due to lingerie choices.

I adore Boudoir and making women feel beautiful, If you’re interested in a session please feel free to contact me for more details!

Is it too early for Christmas?

imageI’m starting my Holiday family sessions this weekend! The first session of many booked these next two months.  Christmas is my favorite holiday (Also my birthday, Yes! my birthday IS December 25th!), it’s become even better now that I have children. This year will be the first year we will get to see some excitement in our son’s eyes and not just confusion as the two previous years before, when he hadn’t a clue what was going on.  Although our christmas day will be December 16th here in California due to us visiting home for the holidays on the 18th ( We give him a day to fully enjoy his gifts), I’m still enthused about it! We did the same last year but in Virginia and only two days before Christmas instead of a week. I have never spent a christmas away from “home” and my husband knowing how much the holiday and seeing my family means to me decided we had to go and enjoy.

This weekend will be filled with sessions, crafting and a play date.  I plan on making a banner or two for the holiday shoots with a little inspiration from Pinterest!

In light of the holiday sessions I decided I would get some christmas themed shots of my less mobile and unsuspecting three month old, I melted taking the photos and I know you will too, so here is a little sneak peak!image
